i wouldn’t want Diego to change, like Tikaani said. i mean, like i said, Diego has got to use liking other species, and has grown to love his herd. so…..he is nice to them. yet, if he ran into another “male” saber-tooth or some type of carnivore, then he will start to get really rough, and starts to grow or whatever. ofcoures, he wouldn’t be that way to Sophie, because..well..she’s a girl. lol. we wouldn’t want Sophie to be obnoxious and jumpy and weird, because Ellie is like that! and we don’t want a copy from Ice Age 2. i think that Diego should just be nice to Sophie the best he can, yet Sophie is mean to him. after a while, Diego does get annoyed. so one day, he decideds he’s going to tell it all off to her, and once he gets to her and is about to yell at her, she calmly asks him if he could teach her to hunt, because she realizes that he’s the only one there to help her. and she hasn’t learned to hunt, because her parents died when she was only little. i don’t understand what you guys mean when you say “sarcastic”. what do you mean when you say Diego should be “sarcastic”?
I so agree what Allen is saying! about the baby being in, he’s right. i have thought of that earlier, and i deep down, i wasn’t sure about having the baby in the third movie, because it will just go back to the very first movie. the second movie had nothing to do with the first movie. it was meant to be a whole new movie, not just a segual. we have to keep that up. so…i much rather have Diego get a girlfriend then the baby coming in. and…now that i think of it. we don’t need Sylvia either. then, we wouldn’t have so many characters. i’m not so sure about Crash and Eddie’s mother, though, yet. i’ll think about that later. but yeah, i nver ment for Fast Tony to be a main character. i just thought that some where in the movie, the characters run into him, and he tells them the volcano news. and of course! i’m not the most big fan of Scrat either. i’m more of a Sid fan. but it won’t be Ice Age without Scrat. and to tell you, the very first movie would have nver made it without Sid being in it. but Scrat just stole the show in the second movie.
i love the way kellie used the characters compared to the Full House characters! wow! she must be a Full House fan! yes! even though Manny is much more boring then Danny, he would have to be Danny out of all of them. yes! Diego is Jessie, and ofcourse Sid is Joe. Beckie is Sophie! good idea! the kids are Manny and Ellie’s kids. although, somtimes i think of Sid and the possums being the kids. lol. and the possums COULD be kimi! because they are..well…miscreants! lol. and Vickey! Ellie isn’t like Vickey really, but…she is DAnny’s girlfriend! so…Ellie has to be her. good idea for Niki and Alex, only i wouldn’t count on Diego and Sophie having kids. good idea Kellie! Full House IS my favorite show! i will always think of what you said when i watch it.
don’t worry. Allen and i aren’t the only ones writing. some people just were busy. but now i see that people came back to it. so…this blog hasn’t died.
i know i’ve mentioned it before but i definetely want crash and/or eddie to get a girlfriend(s). It’d be interesting to see, i already thought two characters, for this but these two need to both be there. i have also mentioned them before, liz and sarah they’re like female counterparts to crash and eddie, but they are quite different,

Descriptions:
Liz is an emotional rock, ever since their mother’s death she set herself a differnt state of mind than her sister, live life to the full, even if you die getting their. she’s the mastermind behind most of their pranks and crazy stunts. Also the only person except maybe crash who would do those things anyway. she values the well being of her sister well above anything else and would definetely fight any predator to save her. Insane, hyperactive, extremely daring but very protective of her sister.
Sarah is extremely sensitive and very empathetic mostly following her sister basically because she never got over their mother’s death and sees Liz as an authority figure, her mother as well as sister. Much more thoughtful and definetely careful than liz but still eager to try one or two of the deathdefying things they come up with, if only to prove she can.
However her unfortunate diffficulty holding onto tree’s very well does get in the way, especially when trying to hide after setting up the world’s best prank ever. Much less daring and more calm than her sister and much friendlier too, but still a little sad inside.
If you have any recommendations i’ll gladly consider them, i want to see one of em preferebly eddie get a girl so damn badly. (a girl would just hold crash back really)
i love you your imagination, allen. but really, once i read the very first sentance you wrote, i went “no, allen.” i really don’t think Crash and Eddie getting girlfriends is such a good idea. Crash and Eddie are a team. they are cute and adorable, being together, doing their stunts, TOGETHER. just them. it would so just ruin their unigue cuteness if they got girls.
i seriously think that’s worse then Sid getting a girlfriend, to tell you the truth. and…i don’t want that either.
you guys are always talking about Diego getting a girl, Sid getting a girl, the possums getting a girl. you guys! dating isn’t everything. i mean sure, we saw a ramance on almost a lot of the movies that are coming out. but that doesn’t mean everybody has to get a girl. Manny and Ellie, and maybe Diego, but….we need to keep the possums and Sid out of it. actually, i rather bring all those extra possum characters %100 more then the possums getting girls. i love it that you care, Allen. if the possums were real, then…of course i would want them to get girls if they really wanted them. but this is just a movie, and…it would ruin their charaters.

I know dating isn’t everything its just something i’ve had on my mind for a while (for them that is not me), its a side story you know, i couldn’t stand a plot that’s completely centred around getting a girl, that would ruin the series for me and possibly everyone. It was just an idea.
I already said i liked the plot being about the animals escaping the heat.
I think things have been a little too centred around girlfirends and getting mates lately, yeah i’ll try and post some of the other ideas i have, if you guys have ideas about ice age 3 please don’t be afraid to post em i love reading them.

i read on the “contraversy” section of an ice age wikipedia article (about the movie of course)accordin to whoever wrote it, the scrat is actually a clone of someone elses idea called a sqrat they just replaced the q. It says they kowingly “borrowed” the idea because they liked it so much they thought it was worth it, it was. for a while no one noticed but the sqrats creator i cant (remember they’re name)found out started a copyright lawsuite or something, they seem to have lost though. Anyway doesn’t that mean they used someones idea (albeit against the persons wishes) but hey it means they used someones idea.
If they’re afraid that if they use any of our ideas we’ll sue them, well i should they ever come across this site i’ll tell them now, i assure you i’ll just be happy to have my ideas on the screen, and i will definetly not try to start a legal battle or anything. I’m sure you guys probably about the same right?

its so wierd, ihad no idea suh a conspiracy surrounded such a small, albeit popular, character. She acts as if the whole movie was her creation, and that they’re making it made her poor or something, maybe she’s not rich (not poor either) but it wasn’t making her rich anyway, so why don’t fox just fork out a 1-2 million dollar settlement.
now i’m trying not to take sides here but i am biased toward bluesky, if they go broke they’re will be no ice age 3.

i respect Allen’s ideas about Crash and Eddie. just didn’t think it would be good for a movie. of there were a serries on TV, then they could try to get girls. but…even though the movie is so good to get that promotion, i don’t think they should except it. it might ruin everything. i’m glad that Allen is starting to talk about the MAIN characters now. lol. Crash and Eddie is a start. hey! i love the possums! they’re adorable! maybe soon you could start talking about Manny and Sid.
i do like the idea of Ellie being pregnent. but if she got pregent, i think that would be the last movie they would make. because in the 4th movie, they would have Harper (Ellie’s baby), and it would just add another extra character to it.
i’m not so sure about Baby Roshan in a third movie anymore. like i said, and also Allen said, it would just relate back to the 1st movie. we would want the third movie to be a whole new different plot. it sholdn’t relate back to what happened before.
I’m not sure about having a series, I’m not apposed to it, in fact I’d like it (sort of) but its just movie based TV series are very hard to get right, for instance the actors have to be willing, (I hate series where they don’t get the original actors), CG series just like cartoon ones tend to be massively watered down in the animation/colour quality than the movies(s and many other issue that have to be sorted out. It’s very touchy so it’s probably impractical.
If they want the movie theme to continue they’d have to start a new one either with the current main characters either as main characters (again), minor, step in now and then, characters or simply not there. I’d prefer the first two options; I’d still watch it to see how it goes.
Your right Keri we, especially me, have been a little too focused on new characters, when a movie series becomes dependent on that you know it’s dead. I wonder what they’ll do with the main characters now, Manny for instance has solved his family issues, Sid has the respect he wanted, but Diego well they haven’t finished with him yet, have they? I don’t know the new editions well enough to pin point any major issues that need solutions. Ellie was adopted and I would love to find out why, but she doesn’t seem to have any major dilemmas to deal with. Crash and Eddie, I don’t think you have ANY real back-story on them to go with really, you really didn’t get to know them or their backgrounds so I have no idea what to do with them. Maybe they’ll explain some of it in the next movie.
O.K So there is quite a bit to work with, lack of detail in design gives you artistic license doesn’t it, and we don’t know that much about them so they can still do plenty with them and Diego too really. There is background on him but not as much as manny and Sid so there is some freedom but not as much.
But that’s my opinion really you can correct anything you think I misrepresented. Sorry about the length of my comments but I can only get here once a day so, I store it all up. (I did a spellcheck so it’s word perfect)

yeah, Allen IS right about Crash and Eddie. there is no background info on them. yes, there is a background info on Ellie: she got adopted. Manny’s background info was loosing his original family. Sid’s background info was always getting ditched by HIS original family. there isn’t a hole lot about Diego. yes, we do know that he was with Sodo. but how did he get with Sodo, who was his parents? we didn’t find out a lot about his family. Allen is right about that.
Manny was very depressed in the first movie, and never wanted to meet sombody else again, because his family died, and he didn’t want the risk for it to happen to somebody else (evidentally, he really did care about Sid from the begginning where he met him. sure, he was very annoyed, but he didn’t really want him, because he didn’t want something aweful to happen to him). Sid sure did get over the fact that his family ditched him. he is a very optamistic character, and went on with his life. Manny then was happy, and became a family with Sid and Diego.
in the second movie, Manny became depressed again when he met Ellie. he didn’t want to go on, because his wife died. so will he get depressed again in a third movie? poor Manny. he went through something really hard. it’s hard to get over things. but i think Ellie completed his life. he fell in love with her. so…we’ll never know how he will do. Sid again started to get upset about not being respected. it’s a little different then him loosing his original family. but it still means the same thing. he was very positive through out the movie, but when he met the mini-sloths, he went back to it, and was glad they gave him respect. but it got solved, because Diego made a speech, saying that their family would be nothing without Sid. so…Sid now knows that he has the respect he needs, even though his herd still may treat him like he can’t do anything. poor Sid. it’s sad when he says the quote “you guys don’t think i can do anything”. Diego’s problem in the second movie had nothing to do with anything from the first movie. he had a fear of water, which we never knew until the second movie. the second movie just helped us learn more about Diego. Allen did question if his problem did get solved. it did. he counquered his fear. Sid was the one who helped him with that. so..i’m not so sure if Diego’s life is depressing as Manny’s and Sid’s. we do know, though, that Diego helped Sid’s with his. he made that speech about Sid. and Sid helped Diego. he thought him to over come his fear, and if he would have never dived in to save the possums, then Diego would have never jumped in to save him.
so….wow. there is a lot to know. it’s true that Manny and Sid, and Ellie; their background info is clear. Diego’s isn’t, although, i can’t think of any problems he would have in the third movie, except for the fact that he is a carnivore. Crash and Eddie, their’s isn’t clear either.
oh, one more thing. i have also learned more in the second movie, that Manny was very brave. yeah, he was brave in the first movie, but i noticed it more in the second movie. that’s all i have.
when Manny, Sid, and Diego first meet, it’s like they all become friends. in the second movie, it’s like they are all brothers. according to how a lot Sid and Diego talked a lot, and helped each other with their problems, it’s like Sid and Diego are BEST friends.
oh i have been focousing a lot on diegos new girl friend, (we dont even no ifshell b in the movie. lol) but al and keri both made interesting points. they should fill in the blanks in the third movie.

oh sorry. ive been riting about diegos new girl ALOT! lol well… thats a common issue.
Its just a reminder about what we’re really talking about here ICE AGE and that we can’t forget about the main characters.
However that does not mean anyone has to stop thinking about new characters all together, i love reading about the ones you guys think up, it was just that we were all getting off the subject a little.
You can’t always have the same characters over and over, you need to keep the important old ones though, but a movie does need new characters for variety and new surprises, thats one of the things i look forward to in sequels, “who’s new?”.
allen has a good point! usually, seguals DO have new characaters. think of it, Toy Story 2 had like 3 to 4 new characters! yet, it still had the same old ones! Shrek 2 had many new characters, and now, Shrek The Third has even more new characters! Land Before Time also had a new character every segual. so…he’s right! i think Diego’s girlfriend and maybe Crash and Eddie’s mother could show up in the third Ice Age movie. i don’t think Baby Roshan or Sylvia should, because that would slow the plot down, and change the story. you know what i mean? it’s so hard, because i know people who DO want the baby back. and he’s a great character.
i like both the first and second movie the same. but if i had to choose one, i would have to pick the first one. the first one also makes me think of some other movies that were made in that time. but i just want the third movie to be a whole new ploet. we shouldn’t have the baby. and as far as Sylvia goes, she wasn’t put in the first movie, because it was just slowing the plot down, the directors said. she would only be great for a series on TV or a deleted scene.

ahhh a volcano eruption with ash darkening the sky and lava flows that they must get around if they are to survive, sounds great, add a baddy in the mix to put them in real danger and you’re set for the climax of the movie.

a “baddy” is the abbreviation of “bad guy”, antagonist the opposite of a good guy, in this case a predator.
I hope its more involved this time around and has actual spoken lines. Its also gotta be creepy, i was thinking something along the lines of a panther or a cougar (aren’t they the same thing anyway?).

yes, we should have some predators. yeah, i guess they would be able to talk. but i wouldn’t want it to be like the predatores are having a plot or something. that’s just like the first one. i wouldn’t want that. yeah, Diego and Sophie should work together! that would be cool! yes! the volacno eruption should start where Diego and Sohpie are fighting. earlier in the movie, Manny and Ellie could be fighting, because Ellie won’t tell Manny her secret. and that’s when a predator comes. very good! i like it.
no, a jaguire and a panther aren’t the same things really. i don’t think they are. pantheres are mostly black cats. jaguries are amost like lepoards.
i said couger not jaguare. cougers being the same thing as a panther as far as i know they are lepoards but the spots have expanded so that they cover their entire body.
I would like the predator to have some lines but it has to be scary and threatening (not overdoing it though) i just want it to be more involved than the other ones in IA2 because they were added just for the sake of having bad guys (the commentary actually admits that.) I wasn’t thinking about some master plan but i thought he could have a hit list of people who have wronged him in some way and one of our heroes happens to be on it. (possibly sid he always end up annoying the wrong people, or the possums could have played a prank on him before).

well we have a long wait ahead of us. Well Lucky me (sarcasticly) I’ll be graduating that year, an adult i hope i still like ice age then. Rest a assured as we get closer to the release date more and more information will be released, so that will be like the small cartoon they play before the feature presentation in old movies. I cant wait to see a trailer or at least a teaser maybe, but that’s years away really.
i’m not so sure what the evil stuff should be in the third movie. in the first movie, they actually had some taking villains, but in the second one, they didn’t. a lot of my friends think that the first movie was better, and were dissapointed with the second one. even though i disagree, i could ask them why they thought the first one was better, and maybe give an idea to bring it back in the third one.
it kind of reminds me of the Pirates of the Caribbean. all my friends loved the first one, hated the second one (yet i don’t, because i think it’s the best one), then loved the third one again. mayabe it’s because there was more fighting in the third one just like the first one.
so to me, Ice Age can be like Pirates of the Caribbean, and hopeully that it’s succesful enough for a third movie just like Pirates of the Caribbean. so…as soon as possible, i can ask people why they thought the first one was better, and i can ask my family whey they thought the second one was better. yet i don’t care what my familiy thinks. i just want the third one to be good, so it can go up again and be popular just like the first one.
about the release date, i’m sure that 2009 us MUCH better than 2008. i do think that maybe another year would be good, because it took 4 years to make the secone movie. but i’m not sure, did it take 4 years to make the first movie? i guess i should find that out. most of the animated movies i see took 4 years to make. i really hope, though, that there will be a third movie. i want Ice Age to be important enough for that. i want to see more of the promotions on TV.
Allen, don’t doubt that you will no longer like Ice Age after you graduate. i have the Ice Age super cool edition dvd, and the critic said, “the best movie for kids and adults!” Ice Age is not one of those kid movies. no way. it’s for everybody. just because something is animated, doesn’t mean it’s for kids only. infact, most of those new animated ones are probably too old for little kids. i mean, the only reason kids wanted to see Cars, was because they were cars. but the plot is much more than that, and i’m sure kids got bored, because they were talking in the theater. anyways, if you are an Ice Age fan, and you are waiting for that Ice Age 3 movie to come out, then you will remain to like it. i know i will.
there are lots of stuff that i have been waiting for for a long time, and i haven’t gave up on them yet.
According to the trivia section on the ice age 2 imdb page, the animation took a relatively speedy 8 months to complete. Although it doesn’t say it there, bluesky and fox hadn’t actually planned the sequel until they decided to make one a two or three years after the first one was released. However i grant you the fact that bluesky are working this “Horton hears a who” movie at the moment so they’ll have to start making ice age 3 after that project is completed and released. I don’t know exactly when this movie will be released but I do know the approximate release date off ice age 3 (July 1st 2009). If “Horton hears a who” s released early next year that’ll make it around 14 months until ice age 3 is expected to be released the other movie is released some time in February or15 months from a March release. That’s nearly twice the time taken to create the second movie so either its going to be released much earlier than the current ERD or its going to (or better darn well be) a great movie.
to avoid confusion ERD means Estimated (or expected) Release Date. i could have said NERD (National Estimated Release Date) but it’s acronym is insulting so i stuck with the first one.
ok, i beleive Allen that they decided to make it 2 years after. i do beleive. yet, i may sometime i want to look at the commentary. i haven’t yet, because i don’t want to do too many bonus stuff at once on the dvd, and i wouldn’t want to run out of things to do. i have to find a perfect time when i’m alone, and i am so totally bored. but i do beleive what allen is saying. i just can’t wait that long, though!
i have just got done talking to my sister, and she said that one reason she liked the second movie better, was because there were more characters. she also said because there was finally a girl in the movie. she for some reason thought the first one was boring, because the characters weren’t as fun, except for Sid. she said that the possums in the second movie really made it exciting. that’s all i’v got. i still have to find results from my other friends on why they liked the first one better.
Crash and Eddie may make everything fun and exciting. but i think Sid is the most humerous, funny one out of all of them

hang in there, kelli. i get impatient, too. but don’t worry, if you want it to come that badly, if won’t even be that long. i mean, if you are counting the months, it won’t be that long. and don’t worry. you still have the firs two movies to watch! even though it’s never mentioned on the TV anymore, they are still great movies! so…watch them, laugh, cry, and have fun. don’t forget there’s another Pixar movie coming out, so see that, and have fun! watch all the movie that you love!

ya, glad you guys agree. that’s very nice that Allen can watch one of the movies every weekend. i haven’t really watched any of them for a while. it’s hard, because my sister hates Ice Age, and will throw a fit if i turned them on. but it’s really fun to go to the DVD features to. only i went to almost all of them on the first movie dvd.
i had a dream a few nights ago, about this talk show on TV. they were talking about an Ice Age 3. they didn’t say much, only they were just trying to guess what the name it would be. like, Ice Age THE MELTDOWN. i was so excited, until the next morning, i found out it was a dream. i just really want an Ice Age 3 to come out. i want it to be important again. i think that three movies makes it a GREAT movie.

i will never ever forget about ice age 3, its on my mind all the time,i just don’t get much free time lately. all of my assessments are due now you know. I also never seem to have much to say anyway. Rest assured i always try to find to time to check for info on ice age 3 and i always will until it comes out. I just can’t wait for info about it to become available, just like an appetiser.
i feel like i’m wasting away here, just waiting for the movie even makes my weekends and holidays feel long. At least every day that passes is a day closer to the official release of ice age 3:(whatever they decide to call it).
